Clean & Green Technologies Big Winners of Spark $100k Challenge
The winner and runner-up of the Spark $100k Challenge were announced at the Grand Prizegiving on Thursday, 22 October at an event held at the University of Auckland Business School.
The twelve finalists were extremely diverse with ideas that introduce new food products, contribute towards a cleaner and greener environment, improve road safety, create revolutionary products for the tourism industry and offer clever opportunities in the charitable sector.
Clean green technologies were the big winners with the first prize valued at $30,000 awarded to Green Loos.

Introducing the next Generation of Entrepreneurs
Spark brings you the exciting finalists for this year’s Spark $100k Challenge – NZ’s premier business plan competition. Out of 76 entries 12 finalists have been chosen by a panel of judges. These 12 teams are currently going through an eight week programme of training, workshops and mentoring, valued at over $5000 per team. This will help them to further develop their business idea and to write their business plan. At the end, the winner will be chosen based on the business plan and a presentation and will be announced at the Prizegiving on the 22nd of October. The Winner receives $20,000 in seed capital and $10,000 worth of time in The ICEHOUSE and the runner-up will receive a further $10,000 seed capital.
