Young entrepreneur off to the Big Apple |

Business School student Jonathan Wrait has just two weeks to pack his bags for New York after winning the New Zealand finals of the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards.
Jonathan came out on top with his business Virtuoso Tutoring, which tutors secondary school students in partnership with their high schools, and will now represent New Zealand in the global finals at the New York Stock Exchange later this month.

Spark 2011 Winners Announced |

A novel way to create 3D models from 2D photographs has won Click World first prize in the 2011 Spark $100K Challenge run by The University of Auckland Business School.
The idea, developed by five academics, students and alumni of the University, topped an impressive group of entries into the student-run competition this year. In second place was interactive assistive solution Thought-Wired, and traffic flow assistant Da Vinci was third.
Spark 2011 chief executive Shaun Tan says this year’s 11 qualifiers were all top quality, and it was a difficult decision for the selection committee to hone the list down to three.
